Every year the children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class go swimming to Aura, Carrick-on-Shannon Leisure Centre.  In the early years, the children gain confidence in the water and learn basic swimming stokes in the small pool.  As the children get older, they move to the big pool and learn the more difficult swimming stokes and develop stamina and strength when swimming.  The children are taught by three swimming instructors – one for the beginners, one for developing swimmers and one for advanced swimmers.
